"Kyoho" grape using "Beta" as rootstock was used as experimental materials to ascertain the effect of in-row cover crops in vineyard on grape fruit quality. Measurement data for three consecutive years indicated that in-row cover crops slightly increased the soluble solids content and had little effect on the single-berry weight and titratable acid content. Anthocyanin content in berry peels showed a large difference, but there was no obvious consistency among different years, indicating that in-row cover crops may not be the decisive factor causing this difference. In-row cover crops did not significantly affect the total amount of grape aroma substances, but it affected the proportion of aroma substances. In-row alfalfa cultivation increased the proportion of esters and reduced the proportion of aldehydes, while the in-row ryegrass and natural grasses decreased the proportion of esters and increased the proportion of aldehydes. |
